Art is a way of life for Italian painter, illustrator, photographer, cartoonist, mail artist, digital and mixed media artist Claudio Parentela. Having been active for a number of years in the international underground scene, his works in various mediums have appeared in zines, magazines and web publications the world over. Making art he calls “anarchic, cool, conceptual, twisted, schizophrenic, obsessive and chaotic” — his work sets him free, so to speak. Currently, he’s in the studio preparing for two upcoming shows. Parentela’s work is set to appear on T-shirts and book covers in the coming months, and one day he intends to illustrate a unique tarot deck. Moving forward, he has plans to make a long journey through China for a new photography project.
