Isis works in the mediums of acrylic and found objects, assemblage, video and sound. As a Black American Female with Jamaican roots, her work is about her culture, “with my perspective and a bit of reality” thrown into the mix. She works from her home studio in Harlem and also in various places when she is traveling internationally. Her greatest artistic challenge is getting her ideas out there in the way she initially imagined. Right now, she’s working on some sound, painting and video projects including a new EP possibly named “Internal Lotus of Control.” She is also making a documentary about her father, Augustus Pablo, Dub producer, musician and founder of Rockers International Label and Records Shop. The story covers her father’s life and music, from her viewpoint, before his passing. Her research has taken her to the UK, France, Jamaica, and next, she’s thinking about the NYC/Japan communities. With the film, Isis intends to explore her Father’s global impact through fans, other musicians and close friends.
