Ramona Jan

When it comes to making art, Ramona says, “I couldn’t help myself. It just happened that way. It probably began as a coping/escape mechanism and then turned into a skill.” Her current work is mixed media in nature, and doll parts,

metal, glass and electricity factor heavily into her work. She also explores painting, sewing, sculpture, lighting, writing and performing music. “Marrying the absurd with the practical,” is second hand for Ramona Jan, who believes one discipline informs the next. Currently, she’s working on turning 100 guitars into floor lamps. She boasts a studio in Callicoon, NY. “I try not to plan,” she says, hoping to “live like a very young child in the moment.”
